Calendar for June at the Library

First of all I would like to introduce myself to the community. My name is Brandine Sorenson and I am the librarian at the Abbey library while Erinn is away. I grew up in Webb, Sask. While growing up there I remember my Saturday trips to the library to hang out and read at the old Webb School. 

It became an important part of my upbringing as I learned so much about my community and the world there. I learned at a very young age that my community wouldn't thrive without the hard work and uniqueness of all who lived there. We had family night at Christmas and cook book making, painting classes and play school to mention a few. We shared laughter, stories and took care of each other. All of this took place at our school.

I am very excited to be here. I would like to invite everyone in to say hello or check out a book or ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. I would love to learn more about Abbey and those who live here. Now onto what we have planned for the month of June, starting June 1st we will be having STORYTIME from 2-3 pm. We will be reading stories, singing songs and rhymes. We will then do a craft and have a snack. 

Storytime will be held every Friday for the month of June. Ages 6 and under but everyone is welcome to attend. 

Best of the Bunch Book Club will be starting Wednesday June 6th at 7 pm - 8 pm. I have chosen our first book to get us started and I would like to encourage everyone who is planning on attending to try and think of a book that changed your life or made you think and we will try and get it into the book club. 

We will have a discussion about the book as well as get to know each other better and open each other's eyes to new ideas, thinking and adventures. Ages 16 and older. 

We will be having a book sale on June 23 in the gym at the ABC Centre from 10 am - 1:30 pm. If you have a minute to stop in and say hello I would love to meet you!
